My 3rd video interview with Tony Boniface from Boulder Colorado.
This is my third video interview with Tony Boniface President of Independent Power Systems filmed in Superior Colorado.
SolarDave: What services and locations do you provide for solar installation?
Tony Boniface: We don’t do hot water (solar thermal) we do strictly solar electric (PV) here in Colorado. We service the whole front range, Denver and Boulder are our big markets.
SolarDave: Do you go down to Colorado Springs?
Tony Boniface: We have, they have a limited program so it is not a big market but we were asked by Colorado College to provide them with a system for graduation. We put a 25 kilo watt system on their grid one of the first ones for the utility down there.
We get in to the mountains somewhat don’t really go to the western slope so much but with the right application we would consider that.
I started the business in Bozeman Montana and we have an outfit there and we do on grid and off grid so we do off grid power we stick to the electrical sides of things we don’t do thermal.
SolarDave: Do you go to Ft. Collins or Greeley at all?
Tony Boniface: We have but they don’t have the rebate program so it is a limited market people that are willing to fund the systems full out.
A couple of the utilities have government energy office funding which is limited but they are trying to seed these programs.
