Cary from REC Solar came over to see if my house is a good candidate for solar panels.
Cary Hayes from REC Solar came over to SolarDave’s world headquarters to do a preliminary site evaluation (free) to see if my place is a good candidate for solar power.
After looking it over Cary thought my house would work well for solar at around a 3.5 kilo watt system. I was kinda hoping for a 4kw system by adding solar panel awnings between the two windows on my south side of the house (I removed that part of the video) but Cary was concerned about the engineering to prevent those awning panels from being blown off the side of the house.
So if you are interested in seeing what one of these free solar site evaluations is all about, or you want to see how your house solar position might compares to mine - check out this video.

I recently had a solar system installed by REC Solar. I installed a 6.5 kW Sharp system as the panels are made here in America (by local, reduce carbon footprint of the job) and was able to off set my 5,300 square foot house and should actually get $ back from Excel energy!
They were amazing to work with, I learned so much!
I highly reccomend REC Solar after spending a lot of time considering several other companies here in Colorado!
Go solar Dave!

Melissa,
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
Wow, 6.5KW that is great! I was suprised that Cary told me he is selling a ton of 10KW systems lately.
Thanks to Melissa Thornton for the great testimonial! We are very proud to work with community leaders like Melissa, who help champion the solar cause for this generation and the next.
Congratulations on going solar!
Cheers,
Cary Hayes
