Video and photos of how solar panel mounting brackets and rails are assembled.
In the video Mike at REC Solar shows how they install solar panel mounting brackets and rails. On this install they had to keep the mounting of the panels low to the roof (HOA issue) and had to deal with tile roof tiles.
Mike: After they pull the shake (shingles) and put the tar paper down, we go ahead and blot all this (frame mounting brace and stanchion) then mount the post. Screw them in to these (stanchion) flashing over the top of it and then rail blots on the top of these.
But this is a 6″ post and this is what we normally use on tile roofs, but the HOA (has issues) will make the panels sit too high, that is why we had to do another system.
The channel nuts fit right inside the rails. That is an end clamp which the solar panel butts up to. The other one is to fit between two panels.
