When conduit gets ugly.
I think this install looks ugly not because how the panels are mounted but because of the way the conduit was run exposed all over the roof.
The install is on the Town of Superior’s recreation and town hall buildings. The town hall is not so bad because you can’t see it from the road, but the recreation building is very noticeable.
I used to work with architects and would have to get them to sign off on my sound system designs before they would approve it (which was always a pain). Since these building where already existing and no architect was involved I am guessing the contractor took the easy way out and routed the conduit the easiest way for them.
I believe the whole idea of placing solar panels on the public building is to build public awareness, and when it looks ugly people might think that their houses might have to look ugly too. Not good.
To be fair I thought that the install for the town pools came out pretty well.
