Large Growth Of Solar Contractors In Colorado [Video]

SolarDave: Roughly how many solar contractors are there in Colorado? And how is that changed in the past few years?

Lynn Hirshman: I was just dealing with that today. There were some requests from organizations and other people about that today.

As of last week we had 266 members. Not all of those are solar contractors - we also have distributor and manufacturer members. But the bulk of them are solar contractors - both PV and solar thermal.

And that have grown enormously - we have been getting 5 to 6 new members over the last year.

We have 147 people at last years annual conference in March and about 200 at this years conference.

SolarDave: Are most of the contractors signing up one or two man shops?

Lynn Hirshman: Most of them are small shops or mom and pop shops - but we also have some of the big installers like REC (Solar) and Namaste and Bella Energy and so on, so there is a whole range.
