My very first solar podcast!
This is my very first podcast, but I think it came out really well!
Please listen here (19 minutes long): Download
I did a interview with Deep Patel from GoGreenSolar.com about his solar DIY project. He provides a lot of great information for Do-It-Yourself as well as the cool test he is running.
- Comparison test with 6 different panels with real time data.
- Problems he had with the permitting process and the checklist he found.
- Issues with digging the holes (takes more than a few hours!)
- Enphase micro-inverters experience and what it means for the DIY’er.
Deep indicates that the test data should be online in about a week. One of the panels he is testing is a Canadian panel which I would really like to know how well it does in the test. Sounds like he is running the test in fair way because the purchased the panels themselves and pick them at random.
If you have a Twitter account make sure you follow Deep, that is where I found him and all the pictures of his DIY solar install.
Perhaps if I have time I will transcribe the conversation.

Very useful information offered by Deep Patel. It clearly illustrates the obstacles that local governments can put between homeowners and solar/renewable energy installations. Congrats to Deep and team for changing the game!
Thanks for the post, Dave.
Awesome podcast!
