			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In one of my first posts I ask the question if I buy a solar panel array now, will it become obsolete in two years like computers do (<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moore's_law">Moore&#8217;s Law</a>).</p>
<p>Looks like SunPower&#8217;s previous record of 22% (cell rating) has been shattered with <a href="http://www.boeing.com/ids/news/2006/q4/061206b_nr.html">Spectrolab&#8217;s 40%</a>.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.solardave.com/index.php/how-has-solar-efficiency-changed-over-the-years/#comments">Jaxsun</a> however pointed out from the previous post that this can be misleading since this is on a cell level and not on a panel level (panels have loss).</p>
