I always wondered if you could walk on solar panels without damaging them, so I asked around.
I started thinking about maintenance for the solars panels and what happens when one panel dies and you need to replace it - but the dead panel is located in the middle of the array, can you walk on the good ones to reach the bad one?
Boy I really had to search to find the answer. I had to actually read some of the manufacturer’s manuals on this question.
“Do not walk, lean, sit or rest heavy objects on solar panels.”
I am not sure that really is the answer because it was located in a safety section of the manual - the lawyers don’t want you to slip off the roof.
But I noticed that some boat solar panels can be walked on with soft shoes. I think they call them Walk-On Panels.
