About Dave Dugdale (SolarDave)

Dave’s Solar Power Knowledge:
Let me start off saying that I am not an expert in solar power. In fact, I know very little!

So why read this blog? Because I am learning, and as I learn and blog, I’m creating great “Solar 101″ content.

If you are also a beginner like me by reading my blog you can quickly get up to speed on what you need to know about starting your own solar project.

If you are learning too and have some tips you would like to share, please contact me.

Dave’s Background:solardave

I was an acoustical consultant for about 15 years. Even though my knowledge is mostly in audio, I have a solid background in low voltage systems. I have even done some of my own high voltage work.

Why Create A Site Like This On Solar?

I created this site mostly because I like it when I get emails like this:

Your site seems to have the most videos that I have seen - more even then the total on you tube. All the info on it has been very helpful. - Eric from Denver

Hey Dave, You have inspired me to add solar panels to home - Rod

I found your site and it was really helpful. Thanks for putting this together, it’s a great source of information. - Chris from Parker

Hello Mr. Dave: I want to thank you very much for sharing your research in such a nice manner. It is very well put. - Manuel from Denver

Does Dave Like to Hug Trees?

In a literal sense, not really. :) However, I like to do my part where I can such as recycling and other low impact things. I consider myself an average American consumer of electricity.

I have an amazing wife and two young beautiful girls. In my house it is very difficult to be “green” right now with the kids. Lights, TV, you name it are always left on, and I am constantly going around turning things off.

Dave’s Future with Solar Power:

The main purpose is to research, purchase, install and test my own solar powered system. Why not document the entire process and take you along for the ride?

SolarDave Appeared On Local Denver FM Station 107.1FM
radio solardave
I had fun getting interviewed on the Clearly Colorado Show on 107.1FM in Denver.
I was pretty nervous going in to the interview. It is kind of funny because when I interview people that are nervous, I tell not to worry. Now here I was on the opposite side being nervous!
When Ana (Davin’s partner on the show) asked me if I wanted to be on the show I told her, “But I am not an expert on solar at all - I just interview people that are”. Ana came back with, “That is what we want, someone that can give our listeners a good overview”.

I also got interviewed for an article in the Denver Post called “A sunny-side-up market”.

I have also appeared on GRITtv:

Solar Contractor Directory

Since I have been doing many video interviews with solar installers I thought it would be good to create a list of solar contractors where I have do research so far. If you are interested in being on this list please watch this short video before creating an account.

You can also follow me on my Twitter Account @Dugdale.

Thanks!
